West Bloomfield Township has place a hold on Fracking. This article may help us decide which course to take. Polluting our water supply to extract gas should not be an option.

GOP: What Now!

November 9, 2012

That’s two Presidential elections in a row where Americans rejected politics of hate.   The Right wing tried so hard with fake themes of “taking back our country,” as if Red Dawn was a reality and Democrats (their fellow Americans,) were the Russian/Cubans/Chinese invaders from the movie.   They used religion in a way that would make the Taliban proud.  They spent millions to spread vitriol against President Obama, all while millions of their fellow Americans remain in broken down schools and devastated cities like Detroit, LA, New Orleans, and now NY & NJ.   So, where does the Republicans go from here?

Well, to recap, after the Presidential election: Candidate Romney gave his best speech after a long wait, he also immediately terminated his staffers’ campaign credit cards as they returned to their hotels (just business nothing personal I guess), meltdowns occurred on TV and Radio (even though Ann Coulter predicated a loss  during the Republican Primary,) from Carl (the numbers aren’t in yet) Rove, to Neal Boortz who talked about President Obama by, “ likening him to figures such as Adolf Hitler and serial killer Ted Bundy, as well as terrorist groups Al Qaeda and Ansar al-Sharia.”

Bootz then added, “Congratulate Barack Obama? I’m sorry, Herman, love you but you can take that and stick in that phony damn cowboy hat of yours.”  Here, he throws a fellow conservative under the bus for doing the American thing by congratulating the winner.  See the following for examples of these attacks.

http://mediamatters.org/blog/2012/11/08/in-meltdown-over-obama-win-neal-boortz-compares/191267

Speaking of Republicans throwing Republicans under the bus, the same thing happened to General Colin Powell, Former RNC Chairmen Michael Steele, and Conservative potential 2016 candidate: NJ Governor Chris Christie, who had the nerve to say something good about President Obama when the President did his job for NJ during Super Storm Sandy.  See

Now, keep in mind as many Americans reject these “phony politics” where super rich  radio, TV, and speech circuit Republicans, pretend to be fighting for the average “Joe the plumber” Americans.  Where does the GOP go from here?  Some say go after Hispanics, but they are quickly slammed.  Some say not to worry since Republicans control many States, they just need the “right” candidate to win back the White House.

Sadly, GOP elected officials make statements about moving forward with President Obama, but they quickly walk these statements back on twitter or Fox News.  Where does the GOP go from here? Well, “sounds like more of the same.”  Too bad for Americans, too bad for 2014 & 2016 elections.  It seems that real political debate that will move our Nation forward is dead and gone!

November 7, 2012

Thanks to all the people who supported my campaign.  Thanks to Jerome, Ron, Donald, UAW Region 1,  my wife/kids, family, and many others.  It was a good run and although we did not win, our District is a better place by the opinions you expressed.  The margin is now under the 64-46 split, but Michigan remains Red locally and I wish our Republican brothers and sisters well as they move on to January 2013.  In particularly, I congratulate State Representative Elect Mike McCready on his win in the 40 District.  Now, is the time for the people to stay engaged.  Demand, by honestly debating why we should and must have an educational system second to none, an economy second to none, and a state second to none.  From 2013 and beyond, no more bailouts! No more cutbacks in education! No more attacks on Women!  We are better than that.  Michiganders moving forward through a government that balances business growth and the environment, with the needs of the people.   We can accomplish this by always valuing people before politics.

Sincerely,

Dorian Coston

GOTV! GOTV! GOTV!

November 6, 2012

The day is finally here. Millions of phone calls, door knocks, forums, and commercials, and finally it is November 6, 2012 Election day.  Michigan and America get out and vote.  Let’s finally say enough to the empty politics, our way is the only way, people second politics, and let’s put public servants in office.  District 40 let’s vote for checks and balances, Michigan needs it.   Thank you for your attention.  GOTV!  Good luck to all public servants. By days end be sure to vote for Dorian Coston for State Representative District 40.

November 5, 2012
  1. Quick recap before Tuesday:
Dorian Coston is against Taxing MI Seniors vs.

The other side supports the pension tax on our seniors.

    Coston supports teachers vs.

The other side supports cutting teacher’s already low pay.

Coston believes it was wrong to cut $1 Billion from our school kids to give a tax break to certain businesses vs.

The other side supports this MI Republican Party policy.

Dorian Coston believes MI can move forward by balancing the needs of the people with growth in business.

The other side is for more of the same Lansing divisive attacks on women and senior.

District 40 our choice is clear. It has to be about more than political party, it has to be about moving forward not back! Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 send the message that you want Lansing to be responsive to what matters most to you, your family, and your community.

Vote a different way if you believe, as some local papers do, that what is said one time is more important than what your record shows, and that the other side’s policies of cutting education, taxing pensions, limiting women’s rights, and destroying our environment, will work best for you and your family.

You deserve better.   You deserve a government that works to balance the needs of people with the growth of business.   If you believe in consistency, integrity, and the working class, then on Tuesday, November 6, 2012, Vote Dorian Coston for State Representative MI House District 40.

    GOTV!

Your Opinion is as Relevant as you make it: District 40 make your voices heard!

November 1, 2012

Dorian Coston is Pro-Choice.  My opponent is not.   I believe in a women’s right to choose.  It is as simple as the word voice- “your right to be heard.”  What matters most in any given election is who you choose to represent your opinion.  In fact, whether the candidate values your opinion will determine whether he or she will stand up for you in the governing body when your rights are attacked.  Believe what a candidate says and believe who supports him or her.  I submit to you that in the race for State Representative in the new Michigan House District 40 your choice is between two descent men.

Dorian is a Paralegal fighting for the rights of the people.  My opponent is a career politician representing his party well.  The distinction comes when you look a bit closer, to determine who has your back.  Dorian Coston is Pro-Choice.  My opponent is not.  I am against taxing our senior pensions, my opponent supports taxing pensions.  I support our teachers and believe in our kids.  My opponent is against teachers and called on further cutting their pay. (When asked about long-term solutions to pay for higher education, he said “I would look at long term costs, operational cost, educator pay.” See http://thevoterguide.mlive.com/index.do?i=3  )

I believe in your right to be heard.  In the General Election, set for November 6, 2012, I ask for your vote for Dorian Coston as your next State Representative in District 40.  Your voice is your right to be heard.  I will be honored to protect your rights in the war against women.  I will fight to protect our senior’s pocket-book and give them  peace of mind, knowing that their government wants to thank them not tax them.  Dorian Coston is Pro-Senior, Pro-Choice, and Pro-Moving Forward.  I ask that you heed the warning in the Free Press article below.

I submit to you that Dorian Coston has earned his education, has been dedicated to helping people, believes in equality, and wants to do his part to make Michigan number one in jobs, education, environmental protections, equality, healthcare, infrastructure repair, and moving Michigan forward on many important issues.  On November 6, 2012, vote for Dorian Coston for State Representative in MI House District 40 because, you can count on Coston to value people before politics.

Sincerely,

Dorian Coston
